Trajectories
Our first attempt to put Russia in global perspective took the form of the Unit 1 assignment, "Trajectories."
For this project we broke into small groups. Each group was charged with researching Russia's relationship with a particular region (the Amur, Russian America, Georgia, Moldova, and Poland). Some discovered narratives that extend over centuries; others are much shorter. Some are clearly quite complex; others seem - at first glance, anyway - more straightforward.
Each group then crafted the narrative they felt communicates the essential dynamic(s) of the relationship. This narrative, which took the form of a timeline, consisted of 5 carefully-chosen events identified in the course of research, rendered first as Omeka Items, and imported into Neatline.
